Hi Susanna! I really liked how you explained Gordon Parks’ work and your presentation made it clear why his photography was so important. Your explanation of how he used photography to bring attention to everyday injustice was super enticing. I also noticed that you connected the photos really well to the categories from Criticizing Photographs, especially ethically and aesthetically evaluative. One suggestion I have is to add a little more background on each photo, like where or when it was taken. Overall, your presentation helped me understand how a photographer can make a strong statement. Great job!

Hi Susanna,

I liked your presentation a lot! I think that you highlighted the significance of Gordon Park's photography very well. I think to improve this presentation you could choose less photos to talk about so that you could go more in depth. I think the presentation does effectively include information from Chapter 4 of Criticizing Photographs. I think Gordon Park's work truly emphasizes the importance of challenging stereotypes. His work feels deep and thought provoking. Learning about Gordon Parks makes me want to look at photos more and try to find what the photographer wanted to capture with the image. His work will make me consider exactly what I am trying to do or make a statement about now…
